Hard drive firmware update?

First of all i would to say a sorry because my english are not so good.I would like to ask you if i need to apply this firmware update on my 24 inch alu-imac?I also want to mention that this update doesn't appear in the software update so i guess that i don't need it?

If it's not in Software Update then you're probably fine.

If your Mac doesn't have one of the Seagate 500 GB or 750 (?) GB hard drives, then you don't the firmware update.

I have a WD 320gb harddrive in mine and it had the firmware available for me.

FYI, if you download & run the update file from Apple's site, it will first check to see if you require the update.

So, in short, if you don't need it, you won't be able to install it.
