Hard Drive Help.

Hello. I'm occasionally getting "Increase/Decrease HW Buffer" errors in pro tools which digidesign claims are because hard drive is set to PIO mode and should be set to DMA mode.

Can someone help me out? how do i set a drive to dma mode? It's an external 80GB usb2 drive.
