Hi all,

After updating to Big Sur, I found out that my Macintosh HD hard drive is now split in two
Macintosh HD and Macintosh HD - Data
At first I thought everything was working properly but then I realized they are actually the same hard drive.

I can't find my second hard drive which is located in the optical drive with an adapter.

Any idea on how I can fix this?

MacBook Pro (Retina, 13-inch, Mid 2014)
3 GHz Dual-Core Intel Core i7
16 GB 1600 MHz DDR3
Intel Iris 1536 MB

By default, Disk Utility shows Volumes, not drives. So, as a first step, go to Menu > View and tick Show All Devices. Command-2 is equivalent. Now you should see all your drives and what is on them.

The command diskutil list (in Terminal) will also show all drives that macOS can see.

As an aside, you don't seem to have much space used. Is this a clean install on your 1TB disk?

I did erase my hard drive and re-installed macOS big sur on it.

Here is what I see when I tick Show All Devices in the Disk Utility :
