Hard Drive -- Lacie??

Could anyone recommend me, which one is better

1) LACIE mobile hard drive 100GB
2) LACIE safe mobile hard drive - finger access control 120 GB
3) LACIE Mobile hard dive - designed by FA Porsche 100 GB

or if there is any better one thab this around the same price and same space..

It all depends on what you are planning to use it for. For backups or files that do not need to be accessed a lot, USB will do, but for use as a scratch disk for video editing, you need FireWire. If it's for a laptop, or to share large files on different locations, bus-powered is the best solution, but if it has to stay on your desk, AC might be better. And you will have to see if you need finger access control (is it for photos from your birthday party, or for storing the formulas of your new chemical substance?)

To be honest, I would go for the Porsche one, if it has to be one of those 3. And I'd get the Firewire +USB version.

Based on UK prices it's £109, and I think it's your best choice. It's also the best spec of the 3. As it has 5400RPM (as aposed to 4200) and it has 4x the cache (8MB - not 2MB)

If you have a MBP 17", have a look at the rugged one (orange / grey) it's a bit more expensive, but as you stated all mobile drives, I take it you want to move it about. So by having one in a schock abosrbent case ( to some degree) it may last longer against accidental knocks etc? Same spec as the porsche one as well

i am a bit confused now whether i shld go rough terrain hard drive or the porshe one.

Well there would be no rogh handling type of thing but can the FA porshe hard drive sustain a bit of it,

Can someone tell me also where i can order it from In UK as the lacie site is showing temp. out of stock
