Hard drive Problem? DVD burner Problem?

My computer is having trouble burning DVD and CDs - When I burn a DVD I get a buffer under writing error - when I burn a CD I get a device can't handle the burn speed - I lower the speed same problem: I can move files from one hard drive to another with out any problems - Is it my hard drive or is it my super drive -
HELP!

A few other problems- lately my computer has been freezing up, I got a start-up disk full error but there was plenty of space on my drive - and I haven't been able to load 10.4 I keeping a disk error mess.

Tell us a little bit more about your machine. What sort of Mac is it? Is it the standard DVD/CD burner that came with that Mac or is it an external/upgrade?

the computer is a 10.2.8 and the burner is an external lacie - I just hooked the burner up to a lap top and it worked great. It seems like it might be my hard drive.

Was the other computer a Mac? Have you had this burner work normally before? Exactly how much free space does your start up drive have? Hopefully it's more than 8GB.

Only 4GB spare?

No wonder everything's running so badly. Try to keep at least 8GB spare for OSX to use as Virtual RAM.
