i have a macbook with a 80gigs harddrive wich is pretty small for my use and i need to back up everything because i run out of space in my hard drive and i need to install new software like final cut express that takes alot of memory

now my question is would it be better to buy a 200gig 7200rpm harddrive from hitachi or buy a 250 5400rpm from either hitachi or wd

i rather have speed over space and the drives are arround the same price just 20 dollars difference

would be a noticiable speed bump on my macbook with the 7200rpm harddrive ??

I don't think there is much of a difference between 7200 vs 5400. However if you check out the forums here you will see plenty of people saying there is a huge difference on their machines. I'm not so sure. I'd say go for the 250gb.
But I'm sure someone else is gonna answer you and say go for the 7200. Read around the forums anyway, do some googeling. :)
