Hello,I am a new member here so hello to you all.

I recently bought a 128GB MacBook Air and overall I am happy with my purchase.

However, I notice that when doing everyday computing tasks like browsing the web and listening to music etc, that the hard drive space slowly decreases.

My question is, is this normal and it happens to you or is there something faulty with my Air?

Any help would be much appreciated.

Well it saves history but we are talking about a few MB.

What size decrease are u seeing?

BTW u have a SSD not HardDiskDrive

Some of that is normal as the OS and browser and some apps create new caches files. How much space are we we talking about?

not a lot, maybe 10 mb a day

then when restarting the computer the SSD storage space sometimes increases.

I had this issue with my MacBook Pro running High Sierra and found out what was taking up my space was local snapshots.

I typed the following command in terminal "sudo tmutil thinLocalSnapshots / 10000000000 4" and then restarted my computer and noted my hard drive space was restored. This worked for me.
