Is this hard to get? It says that you need to meet "requirements" or something like that.

Once you get in, is it hard to get your work on the App Store? What do they use a criteria? Or is it some mysterious undisclosed method.

When you can grab the SDK from my hand, only then can you become a developer, Grasshopper. :)

Oh, it's closed ATM?:(

I am sorry if I gave the wrong idea about the certification. Apple does seem to want some evidence that you are running a business. They ask for documentation to show your intentions. I got a business license and a web domain. A couple days after faxing the requested information I got a call to confirm, and was approved later that day. This seems to be the way it is going for most.

Do you really need a business? I just put down NotTooShabby Software for my business name since it wouldn't let me not put something in. I don't have a business, I'm just doing this as a hobby, but wouldn't mind making a few bucks.

I don't think you need to be a business. There was discussion earlier that Apple was giving priority in applications to those who seemed to be part of a regular business. That may have changed now that we are out of beta.

You need to be able to read and follow instructions. Carefully. All of them.

They are all on Apple's web sites, plus there are hints on the various forums. If you skip steps or assume you don't need to double check the details (application information, provisioning, SDK agreement, HIG, contract information, build procedures, etc.), then you don't meet the requirements.

There are 100's of steps. Are you up to it?

The method is mysterious and undisclosed. But if you follow the Human Interface Guidelines and SDK agreement rules, read the forums about how Apple interprets those rules, play within the guidelines, and write solid and bug free code, then the odds seem to be over 95% that your app will be accepted.

Is that hard?
