Harddisk Upgrade for MacBook

My MB (Core Duo) still has the original 80gb hd installed. I'm think about upgrading it to 160gb.
Has someone ever done that?
Has someone installed a hd with 7200 rpm?
Are there any implications on the warranty (specially in Europe)?
