Hardware revision?

Im going to buy a media player for my TV soon and the Apple TV caught my eye. But before I take the plunge.. is there going to be a hardware revision on this product soon? I don't want to buy it then Apple annouce a new version.

Also, I was gonna only buy the 40GB version then buy a external hard drive to store additional movies etc on.. would this work?

The external drive would be storing your computer's iTunes library as a NAS or DAS and routed to your Apple TV through your network.

Either that or cut a hole and string a bare hard drive to it like Cave Man did.

But we've heard nothing about anything for a year.

Nobody outside Apple knows anything about new Apple products before they're announced. Your guess is at good as ours.
