It looks like the 8-year-olds are happy with the all the pretty new emojis, judging by the reviews of 9.1, but has it fixed the battery draining issue that 9.0.2 brought along? Has it fixed the email search issue? (where a search now takes a minute, rather than instantaneous as in 8.x)

What battery draining issue were you experiencing?

It helps to be a little more specific as to what you are/were experiencing.

Once I "upgraded" to 9.0.2 on my 4S, the battery life is around 12 hours. Have made all suggested changes - turning off app notificiations etc., but no difference. I was resisting going to 9.0.2 and 9.1 on my 6S but a dead (5 day old) iPhone 6S this morning forced my hand. Email search on 6S 9.1 slightly quicker than before.

12 hours standby? What about usage?

What does the battery stats say is using so much battery? I wouldn't expect the 4S to have great battery life since it's an older device. Battery might be on its way out. Is you 6S having same drainage prob?

I had a similar issue on my iPhone 6. Then dfu restored my phone and restored from backup. Battery life back to normal again. OTA most times messes up something.

Also did a reset all settings after the dfu restore.

I did see posts on other forums about post-9.0.2 battery issues. Considered battery life but it's only 2 years old and I'm not a power user. Could be a coincidence that this happened as soon as I went to 9.0.2. Have now done a clean install and upgraded to 9.1 - will give it a day to see if the battery drains as quick. Thanks for your interest....

To be fair, OTA is usually fine for most people. Sometimes something goes wrong with an update for some (be it OTA or even over iTunes) and some things like resetting something or restoring might be needed.

Thanks but no I wasn't running Facebook. However 9.1 seems to have fixed it as battery levels on 4S and 6S are back to normal this morning. Thanks for everyone's suggestions/input....
