Hey all I'm about to fly to California on Tuesday has any one flown with an iPad ? Has any one had issues with security or do they just treat it like any other laptop ? I'm just nervous can't afford them telling me I can't take it when I'm there.

I went through airport security in SF, LAX, Seoul and in China in early April, people thought it was just a regular notebook (i mean, pen & paper notebook). it was flagged by any of the machines.

Apple's good but they're not that good. You need one of these... :p

I've been on four flights and they didn't even ask me to take it out of my bag to go through security. No issues at all!

Cool it's been like two years since my last flight and I've heard security has gotten much worse. I love this iPad more and more every day 6 hour flight + 10 hour battery makes me a happy camper er I mean flyer :)

Just got home yesterday and security didn't bat an eye. It was in my closed shoulder bag.

I tried to fly with mine to Dallas a few days after the wifi launch. Security didn't know what it was or how to treat it and made me send it through a second time, separately. I did t have any problems on the way back though.

Funny imaging that. It sounds like a scene from the future. "What is this strange thing?"

Flights out of BWI and LAX here with a 64G 3G iPad.

I just put it in the bin with the shoes in the Apple case. No one cared. The other thing was all the crap I didn't bring. I usually bring a notebook and separate portable DVD player & DVDs.

Now I sync my ripped dvd's and toss the iPad, keyboard dock and charging cable into my carry-on. What I don't sync, I access via AirVideo. Good times and less stuff to lug around.
