Well I have been waiting for the iphone to come out since it was annouced. I have been following all the releases and rumors. I could probably tell you every spec and feature on it just because I am so obsessed with it. Well since it is realeased I plan on getting it. Everyone I talk to thinks it is either a waste of money, or they just tell me to wait a couple of months until the price drops. I was also told that the touch screen is not safe, they think it breaks. I keep telling them that for me the money is worth it. I dont think the price will go down. I predict that the price will stay the same we will just get new and better versions, just like every apple product. I think that apple spent alot of time and money getting this ipone right. obviously they will have some minor bugs or whatever, but nothing major. Am I wrong in all this and has anyone else had this problem?

I cant believe another post like this..make your own decision and buy the phone...

The price will not go down. have iPod prices gone down? I heard the same crap from everyone. When they see it in your hot hands they'll understand!

trust me
if people cant get something they will say its bad
i mean i have to honestly admit that about the iphone but now 8GB?
so much love:D :apple:

best looking and operating phones in the world

Everyone says things suck, to explain why they don't have one. Like everyone I know who doesn't have an ipod says they suck.

Yes. I paid $500 for my first 20gb iPod.

That said, don't expect iPhone prices to drop until next year at the earliest. The more likely scenario is that Apple release upgraded phones (say, 8gb and 16gb) for the same prices as the current models.

Of course the price is going to go down, starting with the next model. It has to for Apple to reach its sales projections in the multi-millions. The iPhone is price for perfection for early adopters, but the majority of buyers are not early adopters and they aren't going to pay $600 for a phone.

Once Apple has rung out all the early adopters it can it will lower the price to something more digestible for the average person. Just an example, the first iPod was $400. Even the top end iPod is $50 less than that today, and the 30GB model is $151 less expensive than the first iPod, and is thinner, lighter, more versatile, and holds more songs.

Don't fool yourself. The iPhone is an expensive toy (I'm having a lot of fun with my expensive toy BTW). Don't try to justify why you should buy it. Logically there is no good reason. It's a freaking phone, not a glucose monitor. You will survive with or without it. If you want it, buy it because you want it. Period.

Exaaaactly.

You should surround yourself with people who know whart they are talking about or when they don't know what they are talking about keep quiet. As opposed to the bunch you are currently running around.

Why not educate yourself and process all the data and make your own informed decisions. It is the only way to navigate life in anything resembling a successful manner. Simply sitting back and taking advice from a few guys you went to school with and might drink a beer with on the weekends, is not due diligence.

Why not become the person your friends come to for advice and information instead of always being the guy hopelessly waiting for someone else to make all their buying decisions for them.

The iPhone does NOT suck! Even the price is not bad. Kudos to Apple for finally convincing Americans to spend money on a good phone. In Asia, people will not bat an eye to spend $300+ on a mobile phone. Hopefully, Nokia and Sony Ericsson will bring more of their phones to the US market. With competition, everybody wins - particularly the consumer. We (the US) are woefully behind in the number and variety of mobile phones available in the market.

I'd like an iPhone and so far its been positive, but being locked to AT&T is a non-starter for me and many others; along with the inability to tether it to a Mac Book or PC laptop. I have advised everyone who has asked me about the iPhone to wait until the Sony Ericsson W960 is out for comparison. Right now there are three phones that deserve attention, that is the Apple iPhone, Nokia N95 and SE W960.

As I said, the iPhone is great in useability, but is bad in functionality.

Don't listen to the uninformed masses. You have no idea how many people I've heard complain that the screen will get scratched, it looks weird to use, it's too expensive, blah blah...

Read reviews. Listen to people who HAVE the phone. Everything I've heard says the EXACT OPPOSITE of what people who have never touched one say.

i think i paid $500 for my first 5gig hard drive ipod! what a difference five (six?) years makes.

r.

..... and then there was the $599 iPod Photo. That was the most expensive iPod. Will the top line iPhone stay at $599?

AT&T is what has discouraged me from iPhone interest. Our Edge network here is even slower then many areas. Painful. If I could purchase an iPhone without AT&T or at least without the $20 data pack I might get it.

Does any other cellphone/carrier make you commit to two years with their "data pack"?
