Have you tried transferring purchases and syncing apps from phone to itunes?
should be in your purchased history on the phone as a searchable list - think there may have been a mention of APple possibly hiding apps that were v. old and incompatible?

They're not in my purchased list, or indeed anywhere. If you search the App Store they're not there either. Just vanished.
I've experienced that before with the odd app, but six or seven going in one fell swoop seems odd. It's annoying because they're all paid for apps and one of them I use daily. Still, what can you do.
