Has it always been like that? If not, your battery may be swelling. It doesn't affect the trackpad in exactly the same way as it used to when there was real clicking, but it can still make clicking more difficult.

Wife had a similar problem with her M1 Air’s trackpad. Apple replaced it under warranty.
