Other Has anyone imported an iPhone 14 with sim tray? Has there been any issues?

I want to upgrade my work phone to an iPhone 14, but it is not possible to switch the account to an esim. It needs to stay physical for now. I also would like the option to drop in local sims on my travels.

I am sure that esims will proliferate in the future, but I like the fast ability to switch physical sims.

I will be travelling in the next few months to a place where they sell international version of iPhone.

Are there any limitations to bringing an one back with me?

I understand that warranty replacement would probably be a esim model, but are there any other considerations?

I live in Canada so have a sim tray in mine. I debated going across the border to get one without but decided it would be useful. Glad I did since my Canadian carrier requires me to pay up each time I want a new QR Code for an eSim so I'm happy to still use my physical sim. Going to the US this fall it has been really handy using the eSim with T-mobile since it's so much cheaper than roaming with my Canadian carrier with my 14 pro. I might suggest getting the Canadian model since the wireless spectrums are essentially the same. The Canadian one doesn't have the 5mm spectrum but I hear that's not used much anyway.

If you’re in the US the best bet is the Canadian phones.

And that means literally zero. I've been using my european iPhone for the past month in the US with zero issues.

I bought a Canadian iPhone 14 Pro to be able to use a SIM card, which is more flexible for international travel. I’m on AT&T, and I get 5G without any problems. However, since the Canadian models don’t support mmWave frequencies, I’m not sure if I would get 5G+. AT&T doesn’t even offer that where I live, so it doesn’t affect me.
