Hello Mac friends.

If anyone has successfully networked macOS Monterey to their Windows 11 PC at another room, what settings did you apply for both macOS Monterey and Windows 11? Successfully networked would mean:

- you can transfer files from macOS to the PC
- you can print from macOS using the printer connected to the PC (via USB) that's set up to be shared on the network

My situation is: from macOS Monterey, via's the iMac's wifi, I could see the PC which is located at another room but when I connect it, it won't connect even if the password is correct (the PC has two accounts, one is for me, I know the username and password).

Thank you.

I do it with my old Dell/windows 7 no problem. I used to do a lot of Window networks in small businesses, you need to share a drive or folder first in Windows (and give permissions). Then click on the network link in the Mac Finder/Locations. You should see the share. I haven't used 11, but this has always been the same in previous versions.

Also I had to change my account to local. (Logged out of Microsoft services). IIRC there is a problem with Microsoft accounts that even if you enter everything correctly, it won't work.

I am just putting this here in case it helps anyone, but I was able to resolve this issue by putting in my actual MS account email and password from the Mac to login. Seemed to work perfectly. I did set up the shared folder on the Win 11 machine first. Not sure if that made a difference.
