I have my itunes hooked to my stereo using airport. I was wondering if it is possible or could be possible in the future to use the iphone to play the songs over your network like you can with your itunes.

I don't think that's quite what he/she had in mind....

It's a good idea. There doesn't seem to be any obvious reason the iPhone couldn't do it, although, realistically, it's going to be brutal for battery life. I guess something like what plumbingandtech suggested would be more economical in that sense.

However, it would be amazing if the iPhone could someday provide video to the tv and/or audio to the AirEx wirelessly in an ad-hoc sort of way. Sort of like, hey, let me show you my vacation pictures. Just turn on your tv.
