iPad Has Apple abandoned plans to make iOS Development on iPadOS possible?

Hi all,

I remember seeing in summer 2020 that Apple announced plans to make it possible to develop iPadOS / iOS directly on the iPad via a massive Swift Playgrounds overhaul.

Have they abandoned these plans?

On my iPad the Playgrounds app looks entirely unchanged.

Is on the way. My guess is when iOS/iPadOS 15.2 is available:
