Unless I missed something, Apple Music has had no upgrades/bug fixes since it came out with its bug-filled platform in June. Usually, Apple tries to fix things that are buggy, but this time? Nada. All I can think is they don't give a crap.

My free trial is done and I'm not renewing.

Upgrades and bug fixes are backend. So unless it is a bug you were experiencing you will not notice it.

They've made a number of changes and enhancements to the Music app via OS upgrades. I do agree they should be separated and delivered through the App Store, but i'll take upgrades through iOS over nothing.

Well based on the interview Ive gave regarding Apple music, that was all i needed to hear about not going "high hopes"

Since he's not enthusiastic about getting people on-board, why should we listen to any one else ...... I'm already seen and heard that it's a failure, and if he is not (someone from inside Apple) wanting to get more people in as Tim is, then seems Ive has already made up HIS mind, and so have I :)

All the proof i need. Coupled with my own since the launch.

As I've told Apple repetitively when chasing up escalated cases, no one will stick round to watch you fix things over an ETA they don't even know themselves...

At least some date would be an approx....... But i've been using Macsome from some time to grab everyting i need :) All i care about is when i'm done, AM is history...

Actually since launch a lot of Apple Music's bugs have been squashed. The desktop version through iTunes needs a lot to be desired but the mobile versions are much better. Adding and discovering new artist is much better. I mostly use Apple Music for the "For You" section. Really does a good job with the recommended playlist and albums. What keeps me going back to Spotify is the Discover Weekly playlist - it really is very good.

Based on what the investors are saying, I don't see Apple Music going anywhere soon. There's nothing but upside at this point. It's not like Apple can't afford to lose money (which I don't believe is happening) in the short term to allow the service to build.

It's all about the recurring monthly revenue. Apple wants it, and the investors love it.

Well, guess what? When it's done "back end" or whatever, I don't know it happened. And considering the pain inflicted by screwing up my smart playlists, I don't want to risk them being messed up again because the bug "might" be fixed. Customer lost.

So according to this... (dated Nov 12)

A Look Inside The Numbers

On the surface, this looks to be a good move for increasing user numbers for the streaming service. Apple Music currently has 6.5 million paying subscribers a little more than 4 months after its launch. That’s good enough for second place behind Spotify’s 20 million paying customers, and that’s with being available to less than half of the available audience.

That said, the 6.5 million number may be deceiving, since many of those may have forgotten to turn off their subscriptions at the end of the three month trial period. This means that we won’t know the true number of iOS subscribers for some time yet.

That escalated slowly.

I downloaded the Android app, discovered it doesn't play local files (which was the one reason I would have wanted to use it) and uninstalled it. All in all took me about three minutes.

Agree desktop version is a nightmare, I've been on chat and phone with support multiple time for hours without resolution. Opened iTunes and all "my music" is blank. Not the first time this has happened. They told me to upgrade from 10.11 to 10.11.1 so I have, and still nothing. Restarted, relaunched, resigned in etc. As I type Im waiting on chat support minute 7 even though website stated I would be helped in two minutes or less. Yesterday when I went for support I got an error "sorry" page.

Obviously I wish I never switched from spotify but now I feel like Im stuck because I put so much time into adding music to my library etc. IOS app still has bugs one of which the senior support gent had no answer for.

BTW support person just began chat with intro statement, then chat was ended!!!!

Well, if your music stays empty, you can go back to Spotify...

...sorry, that sounded terrible and of course I hope that you get all your music back. I would be DEVASTATED if this happened. Thanks to what I have read about Apple Music here and in other places I now have four backups of my music... oh wait, Google Play Music. Five. Two in the cloud, one on Time Machine, one on separate drive with just music and photos and one on separate drive with full backup. And I will be switching iCloud on approximately never.

Keeping fingers crossed for you to recover all your music!

I went back to Spotify.

I actually switched from Spotify to AM last month. I still feel Spotify has far superior playlists for different activities. However, I'm certainly not hating my AM experience. I have a good amount of iTunes credit, so it works out for me to spend $10/month for AM rather than $13/month for Spotify.

TBH, if Spotify sent me a promotion for $3.99/month, I probably would switch back. But for now, I'll continute to enjoy AM.

You're right about the Spotify playlists, but that's because most are public/user-created ones. AM needs to move in that direction. Many, many users have some great genre taste.

So support couldn't help me but all I had to do was go to prefs and turn iCloud library on. How or why it was turned off is a mystery to me, perhaps it occurred when I updated to OS X 10.11.1. I will be on the lookout for the same issue with 10.11.2. Also thankful for the new bug fixes in 9.2 for Apple Music, seems like they're doing the right thing releasing the updates just before patience is completely gone.

People need to make backups. Even without Apple Music, your hard drive could stop working tomorrow.

Also, make sure you understand the terms of your Apple Music membership. You still need to keep a copy of your own files rather than deleting them:

"When you cancel an Apple Music subscription, you lose access to your iCloud Music Library along with any streaming songs you may have added to it that you didn't own, and redownloaded matched songs from your Mac's library. They all get deleted. You can manually add tunes to your devices' libraries again via iTunes or re-download your purchased content, but that's it" http://www.imore.com/apple-music-vs-itunes-match-whats-difference

I have been using Apple Music since day one and it works perfectly for my needs. I don't think Apple Music is going anywhere because it has the benefit of Siri on mobile. Now that Siri has been added to the AppleTV 4, those that are in Apple's ecosystems have to decide if it is worth the trade offs to move to another service. For many, it won't be worth it. Also, who knows how long Spotify can continue to lose money and stay afloat? Rdio has already been gobbled up and I am sure they won't be the last.
