It used to be $250 to upgrade to 1TB Fusion Drive and $300 for 256GB SSD. But now they are both $200 dollars to upgrade. Not sure when they did that, but it is indeed good :)

And for the same spec 2.6 i7 + 4GB memory with 256GB SSD, the Mac Mini server is 200 dollars more expensive now, not sure why.

Not if you live outside the US. In fact, they just increased the price of the mini for those poor souls.

Are you saying we're poor souls because of the price increase or because we live outside the US?

I beg to differ on being a poor soul for living outside the US. :)

the price for a fusion drive upgrade has just gone down by £40 in the uk...was +£200 now +£160

Still want to know what I get for the money.
I think the original SSD was a Samsung 830, and now it seems like you get a 840. A lower price for a lesser product is nothing more than logical.
The uncertainty of the types used makes me still wanting to do it myself.

$$$ - Strictly $$$

20 years ago? I would have easily said both.
