I have a pair of Beats Studio Pro's which have AppleCare+ on them. About 2 weeks ago they started to get static on one side, even when I reset it. I was at work, near an Apple Store so I brought them in. They said it needed to get shipped to a depot and I'd most probably get a replacement. I said ok. This was on the 24th of October. The estimated pick up date was 30th October. Since then, whenever I saw the status on the repair, it just says "repair requested". It still hasn't even moved to diagnosis.

I called Apple Support who couldn't really help because it was sent via a store. But if I contacted the store, they'd tell me to call Apple support. When I went to the store, they said the exact same thing, call Apple support. Finally spoke to a manager who said sorry and everything and said he'd escalate and ensure I got an email. And no email came. I went back two days later and they told me just to sit tight.

So now it's November 4th. The store has escalated to the depot two times - maybe more, and nothing has happened. In my mind, it's lost. If it needed a part, it would have noted that.

Has this happened to anyone?

I've learned for things like headphones, or potentially anything, it's better not to go through the stores.

Apple actually lost an iPhone once -- dropped it off at a store for repair, they sent it off to the repair shop, never came back. I think we ended up keeping the loaner iPhone they had given us while the original iPhone was in for repair. You just need to be very firm, and refuse to leave the store until they make it right.
