It seems going from Chimera to Camino that the later relase has been crashing a lot more. I also see the beachball a lot in Camino and I hardly remember seeing it in Chimera. Anyone else noticing this?

Are you running the release version or one of the nightlies? The latest nightlies have been buggy (for a good reason), but the release is exactly the same as the later 0.6 nightlies, except for the name change. It stalled for so long because of the name change that it should be very stable.

i downloaded the 3-23 nightly because i had heard that merging with the current trunks (1.4a) had given it a major speed boost. as usual, some pages loaded faster in camino and some in safari, but camino never won by much and lost in some cases. there are display bugs in the camino nightlies and it still scrolls poorly. even my slow 64 build of safari was much preferable to camino (this from a hardcore chimera user since version .2) in all honesty, i have not seen any difference in camino since version .4 (ok, dock bookmarks are cool). that being said, i really hope that camino keeps improving as quickly as it has in the past. the gecko engine is excellent and variety is always preferable.
I wasn't sure if it was just my imagination, but I guess it must be buggy. Rare, but I have had some crashes and general glitches. I still prefer it to Safari, however.

Extremely buggy, 4-5 crashes a day. I only use it now because I need tabs. The second safari comes out with tabs I am dropping camino like a tonne of bricks. It wont even open nytimes.com without crashing, this was would happen ocassionaly in chimera but with camino the number of crashes seems to have increased heavily.
I have never heard of such trouble with recent builds of Camino/Chimera. I'm shocked and I really hope you try switching back to an older install or get the latest nightly. Camino/Chimera wants to be your friend, it just made some mistakes. Let it make it up to you.

actually - if someone was to fire off an email to me by accident, i might acidentally fire one back that has a link to safari v67. it is a pre-release (not public beta) that has tabs. It also has autofill and better preferences.

Thanks for the advice, the latest nightly is a huge improvement and a large number of the previous issues are gone. I want to like open-source just as much as it wants to like me. Hell its why I switched to 10.0 from Linux.

Could someone please explain what a nightly is?
I actually perfer Camino over Safari, but I will look into the last leaked version to see what it has to offer. Camino just seems speedier overall. If the crashes keep happening though, I may be swinging a different tune.

i have been periodically testing the builds out just for good measure, but I can't seem to tear myself away from Safari these days. Its just a dream to use a good portion of the time. As much as it has a problem leaking memory, Safari just FEELS so much lighter than Camino. For some reason, Camino just seems clunkier, less responsive, and harder to maneuver.
On the topic of Camino, does anybody know how to import bookmarks from mozilla into camino?
At the moment all my bookmarks from mozilla are exported into one huge html file but camino doesn't seem to have an option in which to import it, oversight on the developers part you think?
Anybody have any easy way of transfering them then?

Cracked butter see the day's earlier Camino thread with my eulogy on URL Manager Pro, the bookmark solution in this time of multi browser use.
