has "data erase" bricked my 3g

so i followed o2's advice and went with the 3gs, swapping sims with my 3g.
was about to send my iphone off for recycling/reuse, and so decided to to an "erase all data" on the 3g.

however it looks like it lost power before it could complete the 2 hour process. now all i get when i press the power button is a black screen with a white apple logo.

have left on charge all day and tried numerous button combinations with no luck.

so is my 3g bricked?

I did exactly the same as you. However i got it into DFU mode and did a restore and it was fine.

That worked a treat. Guess i can use the genius appointment to iron out some niggles with the 3gs now!
