Simple poll based on your experience compared to iOS 9.5.3.
Are the known issues with iOS 10 worth the few perks?

Nope. Notifications are blocky, unwieldy and they removed customization from them. It's now a 2 step process to do anything (swipe, view, action).

Dual Control Center screen -- why? They should've just let users customize what buttons they'd like.

I'm sure I'm not the only one swiping to the camera feature from the lock screen more than once.

iMessage functionalities not intuitive and seem under baked.

Music and Maps are hideous to read with extra large text that apparently can't be reduced.

Going from ios9 to 10 almost feels like the change from ios 6 to ios 7. obviously not to the same degree but there's enough changes in the stuff that you use daily, hell, hourly (or even every single time you pick up the actual phone to use it) to make it FEEL like that big a change.

for me, except 'raise to wake' and maybe a few extra force touch gestures, there's not much of the new stuff that stands out that made me say "oh, glad i have that now".

Completely broke Bluetooth audio for me and that's my primary means of listening to music and has been for years. Now my X2's and Urbanite XL wireless no longer play audio without constantly interrupts and cracking.

Umm... It's hard to say. I haven't really used the new iMessage features since the first day. Honestly the only day-to-day changes I see are the updated widgets (like), the new notification shade (like), the new notifications (like, though it's purely just a visual change), and the new music controls (they're bigger and easier to touch).

And also, in addition to those changes, my phone now randomly freezes, so badly that I have to force-reset the phone. And then I have to force-reset the phone again, as it stays stuck on the Apple logo. Finally, after the second attempt, my phone reboots. So... has iOS 10 been worth it? I guess not. Nothing REALLY changed. iMessage was the most hyped feature, and frankly I feel that it was just a novelty that wore off after day one.

I personally haven't had any issues with iOS 10. I feel iOS 10 is a much better OS than 9 was, especially at the beginning. I feel iOS 10 was a more fully baked OS at the start than 9 and even 8. I think it's the best iOS since 7, honestly.

I really love the new raise to wake, the new press to unlock (so you don't miss notifications because of fast Touch ID), the new redesigned apps, and certainly the widgets page and overall polish and snappiness of iOS 10.

I don't get why people don't like the new unlocking method if they are using Touch ID. I, myself, like to READ my notifications on the lock screen without having to reach up and hit the power button instead of the home button. And they fly by so fast with the resting to unlock in 9 and before. To me everyone should be enjoying the ability to see the notifications on the lock screen on the faster Touch ID devices. I think it's silly, but that's just me. That feature and raise to wake make for a better lock screen experience for everyone. I just don't get why people wouldn't enjoy that....

I'm running a 6S Plus for those curious, and waiting on my 7 Plus to get here.

I prefer the old way, and turned the new way off in Accessibility options.

If I want to see my notifications without unlocking, I'll just tap the Home button with a different finger.

For me, iOS 10 has been quite smooth performance wise (iPhone 6). No issues there really.

I agree with the above though. There have been some design and functionality decisions that benefit nobody - except apples marketing team the next time there is an iOS release

I just wish that developers would be faster at integrating new things like rich notification into their apps.

Looking at you, whatsapp and gmail app.

Using a 6S+. Raise to wake and the new force touch widgets have been amazing so far. Don't use iMessage since most of my friends are on whatsapp but I love the improved quick reply screen which shows new incoming messages and lets me scroll to earlier messages (and wish this feature could come to other chat apps).

The new camera shortcut makes it easier for me to access it on a larger screen. Widgets don't seem any different, except that I can now collapse larger widgets to save space. Else, they still work the same for me for most part.

Don't see many new apps taking advantage of Siri or maps yet. Siri for Uber doesn't seem to support Uberpool and it took me a while to discover the right command for it.

I am trying out the new music app widget but otherwise, it's more a bunch of nice but small improvements to the overall user experience.

Few perks? Apple advertised IOS 10 as having over 100+ changes/improvements
According to your statement, it's then safe to say less than 1% of iOS 10 is ever going to use all those 100+ features.
[doublepost=1475068938][/doublepost]Power button is completely useless now, I used to always use power button, then slide across the screen. Now I'm forced to use home button, TWICE (No, I don't use TouchID, iPhone 6 series too slow) Which in the long term, in my opinion is going to damage the home button life span.

TouchID too slow compared to what?

Lot 23E. Somewhere in Georgia.
love love love the performance. Everything is so snappy and responsive. That alone makes it worth it for me.

Really like the redesign of widgets. It's fantastic. Only gripe that I have is Control Center. I still think it's stupid to have two pages of it. But overall, it's worth it.

Iphone 6 series uses 1st generation touchId, which is slow and unconsistent. The 6S series got 2nd gen which according to people is instant unlock.
I know there's a newer generation, but the 1st gen is still quite fast and reliable even if not as quick as the 2nd gen. Which is why I was asking what the comparison was against--entering passcode or just not having a passcode essentially.

It's a mixed bag. Seems to run faster, yet I have more apps hang than ever, even apple apps. Mail enhancements are welcome like message threading, seeing unread items quickly, and my favorite, the unsubscribe feature. iMessage tweaks to send gifs fully integrated but the overall feature set seems a bit overkill. Control center got 3D shortcuts but pushing music to a secondary screen seems like a step backwards.

My biggest complaint it notifications, they took several steps backwards. No grouping by type, overly large with wasted space, light background is very hard to read under all conditions, banner alerts are probably 1.5 times larger now.

When does 11 come out?

Worth it?

My iPhone sees heavy use, 9.x.x served me well.

Updated one of my iPhone 6S models to 10.x.x upon release, biggest benefit is for Apple, something new to brag about.

For my use it's _slower_ not speed wise... but because of extra steps involved at lock screen, notifications, navigating UI.

Nothing about the "improvements" is of interest, nor does it benefit me. Yes, yes I know, many of you will sing a song about how great it is, but not all of us have preferences identical to Apple.

Glad I _didn't update_ my other iPhone 6S Plus.

Apple is the expert at patting themselves on the back and congratulating themselves.

Of the 100+ I find less than 10 that are a benefit for my heavy use. The day to day usefulness is about the same as 9.x.x.

I'll be honest. Whatever iOS 9 did iOS 10 does a little worse. It's a little slower, noticeably buggier and a little less intuitive. However if you can benefit from the 3D touch features then it makes it almost worth it. The way you can interact with notifications without opening an app and the new way of accessing widgets is 100% on the right path.

At this point for me personally iOS 10 has way too many bugs. The main ones being Bluetooth issues and battery life. I've rolled back all my iOS devices to 9.3.5. I don't have as many issues with iOS 10 on my 7 plus. I'm sure iOS 10 will be very stable soon with some minor updates.

Voted no based solely on shorter battery life my 6S now has. And I've been through all the suggestions to try to improve it.

I really disliked the new UI at first, but after seeing it on my new 6s Plus, it looks a lot more elegant. I truly think that iOS 10 was designed with mainly the Plus models in mind. I have found bugs, but overall, it's definitely a step up from iOS 9. I love the new Control Center: it's much less cluttered, and I like the separate panel for the music. I love that I can long press on the notifications on the lock screen and get different actions for them. The widgets work better as well.
