Not according to Apple. Still have 19 days on the warranty so will assess it over the next few days and go back to them if needs be.

Have written to their support and they reel off the same advice:
- hard restart the phone
- reinstall impacted apps
- reset settings
- factory reset phone and restore from backup

I'm on the 4th step so fingers crossed it works.

Have you followed their advice or just ignored it? I've had issues resolved by a clean install.

edit:
mis-read, i guess you're on that step, step 4.... i've had success with that in the past.

Ruined my phone? - no. I think the 11 Pro Max is one of the best, most capable iPhones I've had in years.
Ruined my ability to use this phone? - ruined is probably too strong, but it certainly has destroyed several important OS/app functions, the most critical of which is Mail notifications (a huge problem for a phone used for work).

Carplay/iPhone totally crashed TWICE on the way to work this morning (30 minute commute).

The second time, I got to work and the phone was sitting with a spinning busy icon on black screen. Could not power off, had to hard reset via volume down and power button held down.

Going to wipe/reinstall on the weekend if i get time.

Did you start afresh completely, as in factory reset and no restore? Apple support said that a factory reset and a restore via ITunes should work - I was sceptical as surely any bugs in the software will be carried across with the restored version, however they assured me that they wouldn't. The outcome after a 1/2 hour backup to iTunes and 3 hours restoring the phone? Exactly the same issues so what a complete waste of time. On the phone to them for half an hour yesterday and they've sent logs etc. to the engineering team and will contact me today or tomorrow; I fully expect them to say something along the lines of "we can't find any serious issues but we suggest you factory restore and start as new". If they do, I will be furious as I will lose literally all of my data that has accumulated over 8 or so years of iphone usage. I should probably spend some time making notes of all the stuff I have on my phone now in order to re-add them when I start afresh. Very frustrating.

It is still beyond me how they can develop something that simply corrupts a £799 phone less than a year after purchase. Can understand them deliberately slowing down phones after 2/3 years to nudge people into getting a new one but under a year?

A lot of my apps are bringing up a blank page like it can’t boot up their initial GUI or something, I’ve had had the restart apps and iPhone a few times since the updates on ios13.1.3on iPad Pro 10.5” and iPhone XR Product Red

Is this problem occurring with native apps, or with those you've downloaded from the App Store?

I'm seeing overlapping GUI elements in native apps - particularly Mail, Settings and Messages.

For those not having issues, yeah be happy and stop defending this crap. iOS 13 is a joke. I am having Bluetooth issues again and dropping calls, can’t here callers. The mail app sucks.

Not being able to make and keep a call on a $1,200 phone makes me feel like an idiot for buying this phone.

not sure what happeend but my 11 pro max jsut started acting crazy today....apps crashing over and over, some forcing the phone to restart......a couple of times when the phone restarted, the brightness was al th way down - then when trying to up the brightness, nothing happens.....the bar moves, but brightness stays at lowest level. didn't have any issues at all until today. running latest update.

Are you factory restoring from iTunes and setting up as new then restore from a backup? I’m having issues on my iPhone 6s Plus I would like to restore as new then add apps again manually but I don’t want to loose all my photos. My 5gb iCloud is full and I don’t want to pay for more storage.

Is it not worth £0.79/month to be able to backup to the cloud as well as iTunes? At least then if your computer dies on you there is a cloud copy.

I've had some issues like the mail notifications then mail not showing up for a while problem, but other than that it has been great - never crashed etc. This is on a 8+, X and 10 pro. I'm not saying there aren't problems but my family isn't having any real ones. Battery life if great.
We all use different apps and use phones differently so I'm sure there are some combinations that have issues but I'm not seeing any of them

Could anyone tell me how its possible that IOS13 act so differently on each device, because on mine its working great.

It shouldn't be, but obviously it is. Spend a little time in the iOS and iPhone forums. 13 is somewhere between a mess and a train wreck for a lot of users.

Gmail, WAZE, ING banking app, there have been quite a few

I am fortunate, just one issue with Home and that has stabilized. I replaced my home network with Plume Mesh and that helped a lot. Also, one app update fixed the issue I was having with their products on my HomeKit network.

IOS 13.1.3 has been stable for me on my iPhone 11 Pro Max.

Devices are different, what people have on their devices is different, how people configure their settings and other related things is different, etc., etc., etc.

Different software installed, different configuration settings, different peripherals, different iphone model(s), different SKU of each iphone model, atmospheric conditions, battery wear level, language settings, NSA malware installation, different cell tower bands in different countries, different carriers/carrier settings, etc. etc.

I've still got the 6S and just about every app has crashed since ios13, it only happened once in a blue moon before. Even apple built in app crash, weather, calendar, mail (or seems to have no mail to view sometimes!!).

Apart from not liking the cosmetic changes, my biggest issue is the keyboard seems worse, and I find words constantly being spelled wrong due to it selecting the wrong key. I've owned an iPhone for 8 years now, cant see it being me that's suddenly bad at typing due to ios13 being installed.
