I was good until this last update. I was loving iOS 13.People that get burned by software upgrades constantly is iOS 13 the last straw for you ?
Threads like these make me so content to be on xr with 12
Just like with iOS and all kinds of other software and hardware, there are those with issues that affect their usage and others without issues that rise to that level.I moved over to Android. No regrets. There are some minor quirks or annoyances, but I actually get my email now, so that's nice.
Have you tried using dictation on your phone? I have been using dictation on my iPhones since I got my iPhone 8 and I rarely even touch the keyboard anymore - dictation seems to get better the more I use it. Yes, yes, people may stare at you for talking into your phone, but you're not there to please them anyway.. let them stare.I can't stand typing anything on my iPhone. messages, emails, web addresses, etc, everything comes out wrong.
(typing this on new MacBook Pro and everything is ok)

I certainly won't be trying to convince anyone to switch. I already use Google (GSuite) and a Chromebook for my personal domain so my transition was much simpler than someone that is all-in on the Apple ecosystem. I don't have a Mac or iPad to worry about. It did take me a couple of days to get everything sorted out the way I like it...but if I was truly invested in Apple it would have been a much bigger issue. It was far easier for me to find an affordable XS Max that was still on 12.4.1. No transition issues. And since 13.2.1 my 11PM has actually been mostly working as expected. As a personal opinion based on experience, Android is a sewer. Not going back there...

Not sure why the "sewer" comment though...if you don't sideload apps and don't go after stuff from sketchy developers, I haven't found anything on Android to be much worse iOS. Or at least no worse than feeling like I need to buy an older model Apple phone with an older OS in order to have things work properly again.
no I haven't. I don't want to talk to my iPhone (unless a human at the other end lol). I just want to be able to type like I have been able to since iPhone 4....Have you tried using dictation on your phone? My iPhone 11 is running great.Running various iOS 13 iterations over the past 10 days or so and it has ruined the experience of my xr. On 13.1.3 and apps constantly crash, everything is glitchy and multitasking is impossible as if I switch from one app to another and back they all restart rather than picking up where I left off. Background app refresh is on, as was before. Been to Apple store and they blamed it on the iOS. At a loss as to what to do, has anyone experienced similar?
Sounds like restoring as new (without a backup) might be worth a try.My husband’s SE drains battery like nobody’s business even with background refresh turned off and absolutely no apps installed. It is no longer able to switch between wifi and cell calling so he is forced to put it in airplane mode making the phone worthless for most of the day. My SE is not doing that even though my battery is worse off at 91% health while his is 93%. He would like to throw it against the wall, which would be a brilliant plan for Apple except for the fact that he would just forego cell phones altogether.
I have but am not willing to as that would result in an awful lot of data loss, an awful lot. Don’t see why I should need to do that; if it is a software issue surely Apple have to sort it, if it is a hardware issue they need to replace or repair it. It’s times like this when Apple need to step up and justify their eye watering prices; less than a year and a £799 phone essentially malfunctioning is not on.
Was the data (contacts, photos, messages etc.) transfer quite easy? Did you lose anything?I moved over to Android. No regrets. There are some minor quirks or annoyances, but I actually get my email now, so that's nice.
??edited out
Contacts and photos transferred without a problem. I used a contact sync app (google contact sync, I think) to move all my icloud contacts to google. If you have a mac, it's even easier...just export your icloud contacts as a single vcard file and then import it right back into your google contacts in the macOS contacts app. Calendar events can be exported from icloud and then imported into google calendar in a similar manner. Photos I had already backed up to google with the google photos app, but that would take a day or so if you are starting from scratch. Was the data (contacts, photos, messages etc.) transfer quite easy? What phone did you go for? I am seriously considering the switch but it is a bit of a minefield with the choice of phones!

This has finally been fixed in 10.15.4. It now synchs all my photos correctly. Yea!I have found similar issues. I am completely unable to synch my photo lib from my mac to my phone. This is a new issue in Catalina. I've raised a bug with apple but they are yet to respond. I've narrowed it down a bit: I mange my photos in their own folders (I would never trust photos with my photos as it has proven too buggy too often in the past). This means "Copy items to the Photos library" is not checked. All the albums (which is 99.99% in my case) that is no IN the photos library, does not sync. Can anybody else confirm this, and help raise the issue with Apple as this was not the case prior to Catalina.
I find this very annoying since I use my mac to organise and edit my photos, but I am usually sharing them with people on my phone.
Not had one CarPlay issue since the iOS13 betas. I had some issues with connecting which was down to a ropey cable but in terms of software its been fine for me. I've used a combination of Maps, Google Maps, Waze as well as using both Apple Music and a Radio streaming app pretty much every day with no issues.13.4 has broken carplay for me again (after finally getting reliable again - mostly with 13.3.1)
i mean seriously, if maps/siri/waze crash or lock up at random and can't be relied on to give alerts/directions - what's the point?
apple need to start treating carplay as a critical feature with these updates. DONT BREAK IT on supported devices.
