Since updating my iPhone 15 PM and iPad Mini 5 to 18 iMessages don't seem to be automatically syncing.

Today I turned on my Mini for the first time in 2 days and after 2 hours of use, the Messages app on my iPad still were 2 days old and had synced none of the messages since Monday night.

I has to manually sync my iMessages to iCloud on my iPhone and then do that again on the iPad to finally have the messages show up.

This was never an issue with 17.

Advice appreciated. Thanks.

Same here. MBP 14" M3 Max(Sequoia) and an iPhone 13 Pro(iOS 18), my 16 Pro is waiting for me at home. It's not always its just sometimes. I thought it might be the VPN(ExpressVPN) which was causing and issue with iPhone Mirroring. I fixed that by turning off Stop all internet traffic if VPN disconnects unexpectedly on both devices. I have tried it with VPN off for both as well and I changed the DNS to 8.8.8.8(Google) on both devices(I don't have a choice on my work's network), and thats what i suse at home vs Cloudflare(Centurylink). If anyone has come across a solution or something else to try I would love to hear it.

Sync issue here as well. However, only with macOS. iPad Pro and iPhone 15 Pro sync fine. Both devices are 18.0.1. Only macOS is not syncing and it is on all of my Macs. All Macs are 15.0.1.

FWIW, it seems this behaviour has now largely reverted to how it should work and I'm turning on my iPad and my iMessages are auto-syncing. So I'm thinking Apple screwed up something on the back end when they released iOS18 that got quietly fixed.

I’ve run into similar syncing problems after updating too. After I switched to iOS 18 on my iPhone, I noticed my messages weren’t showing up on my iPad Mini right away, which was super annoying. I ended up having to toggle iMessage off and back on a few times just to get everything to sync properly. It’s a bummer because it used to work so smoothly.
