Has it gotten faster?

Its nice to see apple stretching the life of older devices such as the iphone 4s and 5. However I made the mistake of updating to IOS 9.1 on my Iphone 5 a few weeks ago and absolutely hated it. When i first got into the screen everything was laggy. So i did the usual of disabling the visuals, and transparency and turned reduce motion to off and the the phone began to work as usual. Still not as fast as it was in ios 7 and 8.4.1 but it was a massive improvement. I reset all the settings but kept my files and that made an even greater improvement.
But one thing has not changed and im wondering if the IOS 9.2 update has as its very pushy, is the quick reply pull down. Just today the iphone has asked me 3 times already if id like to do the update. In IOS 9.1 the quick reply just isnt functional at all. I will pull down to read a message and the keyboard will be there but as im typing the iphone does not react for about a good 10-15 seconds. They it either will catch up with what i had typed previously or it will mesh up some of the text. Either way its faster for me to tap on the text, have the phone load up the messages screen and text back the person there.

So Iphone 5 uses. Whats your experience? Has apple fixed the issue in 9,2, have you experienced the issue i am in 9.1 and do you think 9,2 has made some improvements? Thanks

My iPhone 5 is pretty smooth on iOS 9.2. The fluidity hasn't changed since iOS 7. It's a heck of a lot slower though. Press on an app and it thinks for a 1 second (should I open? What's the point?).

Diffently uprade to 9.2 then you are on 9.1. huge step up. even on old mini 2 runs better, and actally better than 8.4.1 on mini 2, mentoioned it on another threads

9.2 fixed the quick reply banners and the app switcher is much faster. All in all I'm perfectly happy with 9.2 on my 5.

9.2 is so smooth on my 6s. Much better than 9.1.

It's not in Apple's interest to make older devices faster.
Lots of subjective responses but you'll have to check it out for yourself.
I spoke to one of my students with a 5c and asked him how he like 9.2 and if it slowed his phone down. He said that he didn't notice it slow down his phone at all while he unlocked his screen and it took a couple if seconds and there was a lag when he tried to open something. Swiping was stuttering.
I didn't want to say anything since he was happy with the obvious lag but that's opinion for you. He didn't think it was laggy but I could see how laggy it was while he used it.
You really have to try it out yourself to see if you can handle it.

I have a spare iPhone 5 around the house on 9.2, it's doing very well, better than 9.1. Not sure how you people are having things slow down. Bear in mind I don't use this as my daily phone I just played around with the UI to see if all was smooth and it was. App switcher is fine now, was really stuttery on 9.1 and below. Control center is perfect, it drops frames left and right on my iPhone 6. 9.2 has pretty much fixed the delay when tapping a home screen icon for me. It still shows up every now and again but I haven't seen it that much compared to 9.1 and below. No complaints about 9.2 here. It's smoother on the iPhone 5 than on the iPhone 6 and iPad mini 2 imo. App switcher is a mess on the mini 2 still.
