Is it me or there are hardly any updates on many of the jailbroken apps.
And I have many of them....

There are barely any new themes, apps atc...

And yes I am susbscribed to ALL the trust worthy sources out there...

What's going on?

There is little point when the App Store seems to be accepting nigh on anything at this point. The only need for jailbroken apps is for features that are not included in the SDK, which are becoming fewer and fewer.

Themes, SSH, SBPrefs, Categories are whats keeping me jailbroken. Until Apple answers them all, ill stick to it.

Getting free Apps out the App store via Jailbreaking is whats keeping me with an jailbroken iPhone....wait. I didn't just say that outloud. Oops. :p

Wirelessly posted (iPhone 3G (white): Mozilla/5.0 (iPhone; U; CPU iPhone OS 3_0 like Mac OS X; en-us) AppleWebKit/528.18 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/3.1.1 Mobile/7A280f Safari/525.20)

I think that many us who were jailbroken back in the 1.x days couldn't stand the slowdowns and lag post-2.0. The iPhone has barely enough RAM for stock and AppStore apps; when you add background processes like MobileSubstrate and WinterBoard, it just makes the whole thing sluggish. It's not so bad on an iPod touch, but then again the iPod has much less going on in the background (no 3G/EDGE network connectivity, no SMS app, etc) and a faster CPU.

or maybe because 3.0 is comming out very soon with a new iphone and its kind of pointless to spend a *****load of time on an app your going to have to completly revise for the new firmware/iphone.. makes more sense to me

i will ALWAYS jailbreak because jailbreak will ALWAYS offer something apple will not

Ipodtouchfans.com is basically THE jailbreak community, they are still thriving.

If only Apple offers a 5-icon dock, StatusNotifier, WeatherIcon, LockDockBar, and some alternative to SBPrefs, then I will stop jailbreaking.

i will continue to jailbreak until Apple allows me to customize my background/icons/carrier logo and run LastFM mobile scrobbler in the background over edge/3g/wi-fi.

could care less about pre-made themes, batteries, illegal games, etc. Give me winterboard (or some better/faster future version) and LastFM and i'm good to go

My iphone 3g runs fine with mobile subtrate, winterbord and backrounder...though I only have one thing in winterbord and that is Supreme Preferences :) I love it! Backrounder is also good when your playing a game and you don't feel like starting over just because you have to SMS someone for example, you can always have it in the backround! And yet my phone still doesn't run sluggish, just a LITTLE lag in between apps.

Gotta love jailbreaking, it breaks the barrier apple puts on us, we can basically use every centimeter of our screens and even the buttons we already have, it is just full cuztomization. Sorry about my spelling I am still kind of cranky at the moment because of tests :( lol.

I think it's great that you either don't notice the slow down or don't care about it. I wish I could tolerate it, because I'd love to be able to use custom themes again and I really like SBSettings, too. :(

Beleive it or not, some of us don't actually have any slowdown. I am on a jailbroken iPhone 3G with a theme, SBSettings, MobileSubstrate (obviously:D) and backgrounder, and I don't experiance any slowdown at all, even in comparison to my brother's iPod touch 2G (non jailbroken).

I ran on stock iPhone for a few months because I was afraid that Jailbreaking could cripple my iPhone. Once I took the plunge I found there was no slow downs or anything. infact my iPhone runs better jailbroken!
I currently have had my iPhone running for 56 days straight. I have had no issues at all.

I think the jailbroken community is eagerly awaiting the release of 3.0 until any major new apps come out. and the fact that the new model is coming out soon people might need to alter how their apps work to be compatible.

Damn. I restart my phone at least 2x a day to make sure I dont have any problems.

I know, I know..

*ring ring* Hello? Ok, one sec. Hey Senor360, common sense is calling...

Sorry.. just hadn't had my coffee yet and was pissy. Sense slowly creeping in and your right. Pirating the apps doesn't help anybody. Also, if you can't flip over .99 for some of the great stuff available, we'll force you into a room with only a G1 and their market to deal with. :eek:The horror, the horror!!
