Ok, I don't know if I have the worst luck ever with Apple products but I must be close. Here goes the problem:
A few months ago, an iPad 4 was - out of the blue - stuck in a boot loop. After a few attempts to reboot it, it turned on, only to skip straight to the Apple logo. After being in the boot loop for a few minutes, it didn't turn on anymore. I plugged it into iTunes: Recovery mode. Weird. Ok, let's try to restore it (I'd lose iOS 8, but I just want it to work). Error 4050. I tried on a different computer with a different cable: error 4050. The screen never turned on before, during or after the restore.
Well, nevermind, I'll eventually take it to Apple - task for which I have to travel to another country -, let's use the other iPad 4 (my family uses both of them, not me).
Fast forward a few months to two days ago: The other iPad, after being on for a few seconds, had a weird black "overlay" vertically travel the screen, after the "curtain" reached the bottom, it shut off. I rebooted it, the same thing happened 7, 8, 9 times. Then, it wouldn't turn on anymore. Ok, let's plug it into iTunes. Recovery mode. Wouldn't exit, the screen wouldn't respond. Again. A restore attempt: error 4050. Different cable, different computer: error 4050. The screen, again, never turned on anymore. Contacted Apple, the usual: might not be software, bring it in for inspection. I'm not in a country with an Apple Store, so I have to wait until I travel. Both iPads are stuck in a drawer, "broken".
Has this happened to anyone, and went to the Apple Store? What did they tell you? Thanks everyone.
