[I wanted to ask this question in regard to all our Apple devices, but I didn’t know where in the forum I could post such a question, so I just made individual threads for iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch, and AirPods. Though it applies to Macs, Apple TVs, and Homepods too, that’s just too many threads. So feel free to include those in your reply to any of these threads. I guess services could be included as well.]

I’m working from home now and it has affected my device usage a bit.

Except my iPhone usage has barely been affected, funny enough. I’m a bit of a minimalist phone user, so I have an SE1 which I only use when I go out (at home I use an iPad Mini), and when I’m out I try to use it minimally (no unnecessary browsing, videos, games etc). In fact, I get the most use out of my phone when I’m out doing errands—namely communication, navigation, and business lookup. Now that errands are basically the only reason I go out, I’m hardly ever out, but I still get about the same amount of phone usage.
The only other thing that has changed is that I’m often running out of battery on my iPad Mini since I’m always at home using it, so while it’s charging I’m using my phone at home a little more.

How has your iPhone usage changed, if at all?

My usage of everything has changed massively during all of this.

At the start of lockdown I had the original SE and around a week later I picked up the XR due to the amount I found myself using my phone for calls, FaceTime and general browsing. The larger screen and better battery life were the biggest factors involved.
Normally when at home I used my windows gaming laptop for browsing but the move to online university lectures had me sitting at that for hours a day anyway and during my time I wanted to relax away from it, hence the increased iPhone usage as it was my only other device.

I use mine about the same, maybe slightly more than I did before. Since were at home, my wife doesn’t call me in it during the work day but I do use it to handle audio on webex meetings as my work laptop will sometimes lose audio at times. Aside from that, I feel like usage is a little the same.

I don't use my phone at all since the pandemic. The only time I use it is for phone related stuff like calls, but other than that, I use my iPad or iMac.

Definitely increased since I’m not working. But MacBook usage has also increased since I started a stay at home job search. I used to almost never use it.

I’m still working, so no.. but if I wasn’t working I would imagine my usage would have gone up. On the weekend it goes up, especially on Sunday. I recently had a hernia repaired and was seeing 14 hours SOT with my XS Max lol.

If anything my cellular use has decreased. At home I have around 20-30 computers and devices to use. I use my MacPro to work from home, despite a work issued laptop.

My phones have always been used as phones. While I still get calls at home, data is mainly used outside the house. And I'm not outside the house (much).

I prefer browsing the internet and doing my work using a mouse, a keyboard, a large display and a computer. Yes phones are larger, but compared to my 55" HDTV it's a dinky little screen.

I have always been a heavy phone user but I have noticed I am using my phone even more the last few months. For example, I had 55 hours of screen on time last week. Normally I am around 40 hours per week.

My iPhone usage hasn't really changed. If anything, I'm picking up less since I'm working from home. My iPad use has spiked since I have been using it to stream shows while working.

I’m using mine less and using my iPad more, although not much has really changed for me since the pandemic. I worked p/t from home before anyway, though I have since quit working.

I don’t run the roads much of course.

I do some light fieldwork for travel in my second office, which is my work vehicle (Local, minimal exposure to anyone), but I am primarily working from home now. I’m my own supervisor, so I make my schedule how I want to tailor it with whatever hours I see fit, which is one of the benefits with my position. Government work allows quite a bit of off-site work where the stationary ‘office’ isn’t always necessary.

Has working from home more changed your iPhone usage?

I just started work from home. its goverment work. I run bootcamp to access a different finance database But I use the Mac OS software for most things (microsoft teams, word, excel, outlook). I use my iPad for pdf marking, and writing notes using GoodNotes and the Apple Pencil. GoodNotes has been key to my workflow.
And I use my iPhone A LOT for text message/iMessage and calls from employees. Since the pandemic my personal device use has gone up tremendously.

I even charge my iPhone via fast charging using my anker battery pack PD 3x a day. I use it that much.

I work at home and since I work for an Apple Vendor I an getting an iPhone SE (prepaid Verizon) to help me get away from the iMac(although when(and if) we get a 2nd stimulus payment I am going to get a new iMac so I can be up to date with all my devices
