Hating curved corners

I am the opposite. I like the curved corners. It gives things a slightly more modern look and for me, it is easier on the eyes from an aesthetic point of view.
I like the rounded corners, not sure which lines you're referring to, and I hope the upcoming redesigned MBP's screens keep the rounded corners from the renders we've seen.
A sharp corner will absorb and amplify high frequency vibration, causing irreparable damage at the molecular level, weakening the overall structure of the OS. Adding a radius to the corners will disperse this energy, strengthen the platform and significantly add to its longevity.
Design language will always fluctuate between sharper and rounder corners because those are literally the only options we have, just wait for your turn.
I feel like you tend to get used to it. I used to feel the same way when I was testing 11.0 in beta.
