Have i made a terrible mistake

I just saw a refurb 2.16GHz/100GB 7200RPM drive MBP on the Apple site for £1200 and immediately bought it like a programmed robot. I mean thats an amazing price, cheaper than a featured iMac.

However, soon afterwards i started feeling like i'd make a mistake hearing all the issues surrounding the MBP especially the 15" version. Plus the fact that WWDC is just around the corner and meroms are shipping VERY soon. Then again when those ship i won't be able to get a deal on them. Sigh...conflicting emotions.

No, you've just got a very sweet deal on a very good notebook! There's always new stuff around the corner. If you waited for the new version you'd be paying a lot more than £1200 for it.

The fact that it's a refurb means that any issues should hopefully have been resolved.


Now stop fretting and enjoy it!

I saw this too. It's a bit strange though as it's well overpriced to start with (£2059) and considerably cheaper than the other 2.16Ghz models they have advertised.

If it's perfect you will indeed have a bargain.

I think it's a mistake because the person who bought it may have sent it back because of the mooing, and maybe Apple won't fix the problem before selling it to you because they think that the noise level is "within specifications."

In that case i'll just ship it right back to them. I know i'm gonna do extensive testing for the first 7 days.

Agreed, maybe its a mis-price. However the refurb Hi-Res PowerBook i'm currently using was just £866 when i got it because my first brand new MBP was giving me issues. However, the PowerBook came in perfect condition, was included with a 7200RPM drive and has not giving me any issues to date (its almost 6 months old)

If it is a misprice - and there's definitely something wrong there - but if the deal goes through they have to sell it to you for that price.

Slightly different because it's an obsolete machine, but that's still an awesome price for the PowerBook (the maximum 45% off).

Woah... even if it mooed like a stockyard on branding day that would be an awesome price. I'm quite sure there are a lot of people you could sell it to for more than than even with full knowledge it made funny noises.

I think you got a great deal.
Since it is a refurb, if it did have any problems, Apple did have a chance to bring it to spec before selling!
