Does anyone else feel like Apple should do what they did back when iOS 12 came out?

current iOS versions are incredible by no means, yet there’s a plethora of annoying tiny bugs that plague it. Sometimes so circumstantial that they’re hard to pin and document, and they pile on to frustration.

If the next OS focused on a huge polish I think it would be a much appreciated move on my part.

Yes; can you be more specific about the bugs you are encountering and the performance enhancements you wish to see? As well as share your iOS device(s) you're using? 16 Pro has been flawless for me aside from a few lags related to launching Camera Control.

Based on how Apple Intelligence features are rolling out, I expect my phone to be in a constant beta of new features and new bugs to accompany them every couple months for quite awhile. I don't think it will change with iOS 19 either. Apple doesn't want to get lapped on this AI stuff, so they are currently in a move fast and break things mentality. I'm not saying it is a good approach, but that seems to be where they are at right now.

On the contrary, I hope iOS 19 is an update that adds an immense amount of new features.

Most iOS updates typically don't add that many noteworthy features... I can't even remember what iOS 17 or iOS 16 added without looking it up. Seriously, try remembering what the big features of the past few iOS updates were without looking up the information: it's surprisingly difficult!

People like to say stuff along the lines of "Apple should stop adding new features and focus on stability," but I think Apple adds very few features normally and people still find issues. By contrast, iOS 18.0 is working amazingly well for me despite being supposedly the biggest update in years... even my iPhone's battery life seems better than it was under iOS 17.6.1.

Yeah,

Currently I’ve experienced just tiny details that repeat but are hard to pin to exact occurrences.

1. Respring occurrences. I just switched to 16 pro from a 14 pro and this happens still. It’s become an issue that happens a few times a week since iOS 17.

2. I posted about this notification bug in a separate thread.

3. A Bluetooth/car bug that during calls does not stop the background music until you turn off the Bluetooth. This occurs in non CarPlay cars.

There’s many other ones I can’t think of at the moment but these have had the most obvious presence in my use of the phones.
