Just upgraded my iPhone. Everything seems okay, except News.

I can't find the News icon anywhere. There is also no News entry in the Settings app.

The old newsstand is still there, except it looks like a normal folder now, containing the three magazines I had there before.

When I go to the App Store and search for News, the top result says "Open News", as if I have it installed. Tapping "Open News" opens a Safari window pointed at "localhost", and obviously an error message: "Safari cannot open the page because the address is invalid".

I'm out of ideas. Can I use this app or not?

Okay, problem solved. My region setting wasn't set to US.

Just a warning - last time I changed my region to US I found Siri and the dictionary stopped recognising some English words but would readily understand US English versions. Easiest example I can think of it would no longer recognise Motorway but would handle Freeway just fine. No idea if that's changed over time but just something to be wary of. Your dictionaries, both Siri and typed, could have you speaking American.

Not sure News is worth the hassle of being taken for a 'merican. :)

Region and language are two different things . You can set the region to US and have Siri in any language you want .
My region is US and Siri for me is in French .
On the other hand in Keyboard , I have 3 different ones : French , English and Emoji .

Your gonna have to wait until 9.1 for News unless you change region.

But I think in doing that you'll have News tailored to the US.

I tried News on 9.1, I wasn't exactly taken with it to be honest. Most news was a small paragraph and an external link.
