I just got an iPhone 5S with 7.0.4 installed. Should I upgrade to iOS 9.3? I care about speed and smoothness, and so far iOS 7.0.4 has been pretty awesome in this regard. The bad thing is that I won't be able to restore my iPhone.
How would you update to 7.1.2 if Apple isn't signing it?Personally, I wouldn't. Download 7.1.2's ipsw. Best version to have on the 5s.. Unless you REALLY need the new features.

Unless I'm very mistaken, signing only affects downgrades. I might be wrong though! How would you update to 7.1.2 if Apple isn't signing it?
If affects it all basically--only a signed version can be installed generally speaking, whether it's an upgrade or downgrade or anything else.Unless I'm very mistaken, signing only affects downgrades. I might be wrong though!
Well thanks for clarifying thatIf affects it all basically--only a signed version can be installed generally speaking, whether it's an upgrade or downgrade or anything else.

good point, maybe true: i had 7 on 5c and it was grand. The people in this thread must not remember how unstable/slow 7.0 can be on 64-bit devices. It's not really a good version.
Nonsense. Running two 5s with ios 9 and performance is fine. No lag or stutter.Don't do it!!
I had to sell my 5s, iOS 9 killed its performance.
