Hi. I've searched but am still confused (newbie to this). I have a concert video in iTunes under 'movies'.

The info on it says: mpeg-4 video file, 1.13gb, 127kpbs, profile low complexity, total bit rate 1428kpbs, dimensions 720 x 480, video codec h.264

The iPhone says it cannot deal with this video. Could someone please tell me what I can do to get it to work? (I'm on a new iMac). It's a new phone so I have space to have it be good quality. Thanks for any help.

In iTunes try right clicking on the file and choose "convert to ipod". It'll make another version that will sync to the phone. You can then delete the original.

Thanks guys. I got it working. Used Handbrake, mp4 file, h.264, framerate same, ipod mode, 2-pass encoding, avg bitrate 500. 448 x 336. Looks good.

I didn't know about the 'convert to iPod' deal in iTunes. :)

:) Having another issue that's driving me nuts. Here's the deal.... movie converted from TS to .mp4 via Handbrake. Can watch it on VLC and Quicktime. I cannot get this movie into iTunes for iPhone downloading no matter what. I've tried "Add to Library", dragging from Finder, and "Import". Nothing sticks. I managed to do this in the past but just cannot get it in iTunes now. I'm redoing the movie in Handbrake on h.264 main. I previously selected the iPhone default. Just trying anything at this point and any help would be appreciated. I've searched around and just can't get anything to work. I'm fearing perhaps a recent iTunes update nuked the ability to do this?

EDIT: Literally about 25-30 minutes later, these popped up in iTunes out of the blue. Perhaps even longer. They were no where to be found prior. I'm utterly puzzled by this but it did work. Sorry - semi-false alarm.
