Have to install DP1 first, then upgrade?

I redeemed my code to download Yosemite DP1 back in June, but held off on actually installing it. Now that the public beta is about to begin, I've deleted the "Install Yosemite" app and re-downloaded it from the MAS, but it's still DP1. Do I have to install the first beta and then update to DP4? Or is there a way to install DP4 directly?

I am not aware of another way to get there now. I am sure that when the Public Beta release is announced there will be a way to get to the latest version. I'm guessing that patience will be your best friend at this point.

That's true, I guess I can always just find a torrent once the public beta hits (I won't be able to download it through that program because I never bothered applying for it - didn't think I'd need to!) ...

I did the exact same thing. I used the redemption code from my developer account back at the beginning of June but never installed the DP. Tonight I installed that first DP. The App Store then updated me to Update 1 then 2 then 3. It took awhile and wasn't elegant but it works. I'm on DP4 now.

Yup, I did the same thing. They said that we'd probably get more frequent updates than the public beta would, which is why I ended going this route. Took a while, but it's done now, in any case.

That was my exact line of logic in doing the DP over the Public beta.
