I am using Sonoma and do not wish to install Sequoia until probably sometime next year because I have critical third-party software that's not ready. I do not want macOS to notify me of Seuoia's availability. However, I want notifications of any available updates to Sonoma. Is this possible? I remember this being discussed but can't find the thread. This is how I have things set. As you can see, the Sequoia availability still shows.

This command disabled it for me. YMMV
Code:
sudo /usr/sbin/softwareupdate -l --no-scan

It doesn't work, Sequoia is still shown in Software Update
According to the manual, "--no-scan Do not scan when listing or installing updates (use available updates previously scanned)"

My 13-inch MacBook Pro(M1,2020) is still running Big Sur and there is no "red badge" notification(in the Dock), so somehow Apple has managed to remove this minor annoyance.

Ignore update for macOS 15 Sequoia for 90 days:

https://forums.macrumors.com/threads/ignore-sequoia-for-90-days.2436999/

this does it for me. (1) open TexEdit, (2) copy paste "Code:", (3) save as delayedupdate.mobileconfig (4) before that I [ ] unticked the box that says If no extension is provided, use".txt" and I left it as Unicode (UTF-8)

save on desktop

then open System Settings, type profiles in the search box

under Install, view or remove configuration profiles, click the + button find the file on desktop named delayedupdate.mobileconfig

click Open then continue. Done.
