Same style, colour etc.

The purpose being keeping one in pristine condition?

I haven’t with my Apple Watch straps, but I have done with trainers.

I have bought multiple variants of Apple Watch straps (sport band, solos & BSLs.) EG starlight, midnight & light blush.

Have you?

I've had my next strap lying in a drawer for probably 6+ months waiting for the current one to break/wear out. That allows an immediate replacement vs. having some down days waiting for an ordered (at the time) replacement to arrive. It's a relatively cheap, immediate recovery "backup" ready to be installed as soon as the existing one fails.

I’m up to 60 straps, now.

I’d never buy the exact same strap, but as said before, I will get the variation of the same colour. .

For collector items (not straps) I might order more to keep it in pristine condition. For watch straps not so much and I use it straightaway until it is about to fail.
Speaking of which, my trusty truly limited edition woven nylon band finally starts to fall apart. But because I want to gift one of my older Apple Watch to a relative, I now need to buy 2 bands. One for my own replacement and one for my relative. Kind of pricey tbh.
