I know I'm not the only one who hates the fact that PUSH email does not work properly (i.e. reliably) with the iPhone.

One of these days I hope sincerly that we will get PUSH on the iPhone. I'm very close to having to go back to the Blackberry platform at least temporarily until this gets resolved.

Have you told Apple yet that you are not happy with the lackluster PUSH email performance? Do it now:

http://www.apple.com/feedback/iphone.html

Email it the number 1 application that I use the iPhone for. Yahoo Push Email is about 50% reliable. They need to do a much better job. Of course adding over the air sync of Calendar and Contacts would be very much appreciated as well. I am hoping Update 1.1 will be coming very soon to address some of these issues.

Your poll is a little bias. It assumes everyone is eventually going to contact Apple about push mail. I don't use Yahoo mail and don't plan on using it. So my answer would be "I won't contact Apple because I don't care about this issue".

::chuckles::
Awwww - i didn't get to play either.

I was looking for that other option also. I don't want PUSH. I wouldn't mind if you could disable it but if not, I'd be screaming...

OP - if you could edit the poll, it might be more meaningful. It would be interesting to see how many will never write as they just don't care.

Ive had my iphone for 3 days and am SORELY disappointed with the email service. In a word it SUCKS!!!! Im am coming from a Blackberry as well and am used to receiving emails instantly, not 15+ minutes after they are sent. Sorry apple, I dont have time to hit the refresh button every minute to chech for new mail.

Also...we HAVE TO HAVE either 1) repeating alerts 2) LOUDER mail notification. 90% of the time I dont even hear the "new mail" alert. If nothing else at least give us the ability to use whatever sound we want so we can pick something we can hear.

What is so great about push email than regural email guys?
Is it really that much of a difference?
I dont have a problem with my regural pop3 email account.

You must like getting your emails 15+ minutes after they are sent. I dont.

On a Blackberry when someone sends you an email it comes through near immediately. On the iPhone, unless your are constantly refreshing your inbox the shortest amount of time to autocheck is ever 15minutes. Thats just unacceptable.

I have ppl emailing me that need answers right now, not 20-30min after they sent the initial email. For right now Ill be carrying my iphone and Blackberry.

The iPhone has some amazing features, but the mail app is sorely lacking.

Wow, that is really unnaceptable I guess.
You must have some really important emails that when you're away from you computer you gotta answer within seconds.
Me I just manually check email and everything is there with no probs.
No big deal, I can wait 5-10 minutes.
I think the Iphone was not meant to be a serious business solutions phone like blackberrys etc...
Push email is something I can live without, you guys are acting like its the end of the world

You cant expect everyones needs and usage to be exactly like yours. Ya, if my buddy emails me a link to youtube, that can wait. When my boss emails me something and needs an answer right now, that cant wait.

You should have stayed with your blackberry then.
I dont think the Iphone was meant to be a business solution PDA like the blackberry but all you guys do is try to compare them with eachother all the time.
Apples and oranges.

s.

Why do you think I said Im still carrying my BB? Is it that much to expect emails to come through in a more timely manner?? Just because people have complaints doesnt mean those complaints dont have merit.

...but SJ clearly advertised "True push email through Yahoo"
And that is what should be delivered. This is not a wish list for future addons, it is a legitimate complaint about an advertised feature.

For some 5-10 minutes is a timelly manner IMO.
But I dont think the Iphone is a business/corporate type of phone.
With youtube, MP3 player, movies, and many other cool features its not in the same Market as a blackberry is. Also you cant do many other more productive things that the blackberry does like push email, copy paste, edit and save doc and xls documents etc....

Maybe thats something Yahoo needs to look into if they're advertising true push thru yahoo mail and in reality it isnt.....

I feel that I was somewhat lied to as well. My Yahoo has never worked correctly...ever.

There are many issues that need to be taken care of.

I've been frustrated with push email on the iPhone too, but I have not yet given feedback. I recently added another AT&T line so that I could have a phone with the medical software I use installed on it. I was between a Blackberry and a Treo, and I went with the Blackberry because of the push email service. Now I don't bother with iPhone email anymore.

Whether YOU want or need push email, the fact is that apple is telling buyers that they provide push email via yahoo on the iphone. People who require push email, such as myself, bought the phone expecting that apple was telling the true. Right now the push email is BROKEN. It needs to be FIXED. This is not some silly trivia like ringtones and such, it is a key component for many people in using their phone.
