I was watching the guided tour videos and the voiceover people were making a point of say iPad without anything before it. Kind of like it is a person. Instead of "you can surf the web with your iPad" they say something like "you can surf the web with iPad". Its kind of creepy. iPad is watching you!!!

Apple have always omitted the definite article when referring to their products in recent times. See also "Why you'll love iPhone" and "Fill iPod classic with thousands of songs". Steve slipped up briefly on January 27 when he introduced it but apart from that it's quite an established habit.

This may be a way for Apple to try to get iPad into our language. If we keep hearing iPad without anything in front of it, maybe people will turn it into a common word (like google).

"You see that new YouTube video?"
"I saw it last night on iPad."

It's like a service instead of a single device.

Its creepy. I never say "Hey have you seen iPhone?" Oh yeah he went to the store, iPhone will be right back.
