Have You Resisted Touching an iPad While Waiting for the 3G?

I thought I would run to the Apple store the moment that the iPad WiFi version was released, but I never did. I knew I'd see one out and about. Nope -- just a box on someone's desk at work. Then, I just knew my friend would have her's when I visited -- nope. So I have YET to see an iPad in person, which makes getting the iPad 3G tomorrow SOOOOOOO EXCITING.

Have you not seen and/or touched one yet while waiting for your's? Why?
 
I tried it once at a store after I already ordered the 3G. That's it. It was as I expected.

I have not seen it yet and have specifically avoided doing so until it shows up tomorrow. Figured I'd save the surprise until mine showed up.

Hopefully with all of the positive reviews my expectations aren't set so high that it ends up being a bit of a let down.
 
I didn't have the slightest urge to have one UNTIL I played with one at our local Best Buy. My wife had to drag me away from it. She ordered my 3G model in secret three days later. :D

Same here. I've purposefully avoided the Apple store and Best Buy for weeks. I wanted to lose my iPad virginity to my own. Can't wait.
 
I hadn't touched one... up until the point my wife decided she would like one too, so i went and purchased her a wifi model... and playing with the wifi model has only made me MORE excited to get MY 3G! :)
 
I have REALLY wanted to go an mess around with a Wi-Fi model, but never made it to Best Buy to do so. Now that I have my shipping conformation for tomorrow, I can hardly wait! I'm actually going to drive the 30 minutes home from work to get it when it's delivered and then drive the 30 minutes back to work so I can start adding my schedule and "tasks" to it as soon as I can. :D

It's nice to read about someone who's waiting.....instead of reading about all the dirty whores who can't help themselves. ;)
 
I was wondering if I was the only one! it's kind of like when the first iPhone was released, when I walked into the store, I didn't even want to look at the display iPhones. I wanted to wait to get home and open my precious and see it live for the first time. It was great.
 
Yes! I have had three within inches of my hands. :eek: Bad apple tech geek:eek:, pretended to drop it in front of me, I wanted to hit him, but he still had the iPad in his hands, sigh...

I work in an Canadian Apple reseller as the Apple products buyer, several co-workers who have gone to the states have brought them in, out in fresh air in the backroom only. They have teased me mercilessly, as I have stated that I will not touch until I own it.

They have tested apps for me, I have downloaded apps I want and I have a bag and a snap-on case picked out, just waiting for them to arrive in Canada at our distributors.:p
 
well, i had to see it the first day and it was amazing. But it just made me want my own so much. I didn't want to wait until tomorrow, but I'm glad that I did.
 
to all those who are staying away for the Apple Store how close are you to it?

I've played with one but then again I was going there to get a wifi version so I guess my answer really shouldn't count.
 
I've played with one twice; once with a dude's who brought it to work, and the other time at Best Buy. Both times were too short. Can't wait for tomorrow. :cool:
