I haven't used a mac in 4 years since I had a Macbook with OSX Snow Leopard, and I'm about to get a rMB. What are the biggest changes to the OS I will run into and what are some features I definitely should be aware of and start using?

screens are now in color, and you can no longer make a cup of coffee while booting up (bootup is too fast). plus you can connect to the world wide web...

seriously, if you were comfortable with snow leopard, el capitan will be easy to adapt to (and coastalOR's link above is a good place to start).

welcome back.

Refresh likely between end of month and WWDC. Only signal USB-C - this is total silence, less 2lbs and perfect for on the go.

I have HDMI + USB + USB-C adapter for desktop (along with external kb/mouse). Easy to love and use coming from Mac Pro and 10.7.5.

Make sure you have good backups of course, say CCC along with TimeMachine on a drive you can plug in.
