I purchased a Mac Mini one day and returned it the next day because the unit is not suitable for my needs. I payed the store with cash, so they told me that they would mail me a check with the balance. A month has passed by and I do not know what is going on. I have made several phone calls, some involving the representative to hang up on me when I asked to speak to the manager. After some nonsense calls, I drove to the store and they knew who I was. One manager said he had sent an email to corporate and the store would call me back the next day by 3:00 PM. This was two weeks ago. I called them back the next Monday where another manager told me that he would check out what was happening and would call me back later that day. I received no call. I called the store on Friday where I spoke to yet another manager after the store dropping my calls several times. The manger said that this was a common problem happening at that moment. Quite a few people were not receiving their checks. She said I would have my check by Monday. If not, I would have to call the store on Monday and speak to any of the managers. I received no check on Monday and made another call that day. The manager I spoke to was quite rude to me and told me that he sent another email to the main manager and that she would call me back on Tuesday. Today is Wednesday and I still haven't received my check for $600+ I'm quite furious at the moment and do not know what to do. You can all see the numerous attempts I have made to contact the store. I would like to file a complaint regarding the store if that is possible, but I want my money back. I have the receipt of purchase and the receipt of return on hand. Any feedback would be great. Thanks.

Email sjobs (at) apple (dot) com (I would type that correctly but that just increases spam to the address).

I had some issues with a MacBook Pro which I couldn't solve through the normal routes in Apple, and an email off to that address solved everything (after a few responses back & forth).

In cases like this, the BBB and/or a consumer advocate reporter can really get things moving.

I would suggest contacting the BBB and telling them your story. They are usually quite sympathetic and work quickly to resolve the issue. If that doesn't work, then go for your local news consumer advocate.

Just another reminder why credit cards are the way to go in these transactions. :)

I'll contact that website right away. I am going to give the store a call right not too. I know I should have used my credit card:(. That was a dumb move, but I thought receipts would be good enough for a company like Apple. I'll resort to the BBB last. Though I do hate this particular Apple Store, I do enjoy the companies products. It is an addiction :D

If it had actually happened, they are late...

Unfortunately, you are just wasting time. The store don't mail the check. Most likely a third party mails the check and so the store can't do anything about it. They know you because you are one who is calling about something they have no control over.

You should have bought on credit card.

Wrong. I am sort of stunned that you would tell someone who is having a legitimate problem that they are somehow to blame. Anyone should be able to walk into an Apple store and buy any product with any form of payment they accept and not worry about any problems like this coming up.

This is the responsibility of the Apple store and Apple. It does not make the slightest bit of difference if a third party mails the check out, that third party is still working for Apple. If this happened to me I would be contacting a lawyer.
