What are good deciding factors in going with the Imac or Macbook pro? Hope somebody can help. Thanks

Cost comes to mind first. Second is....you say they have computers everywhere, but do you really need portability....if you do, or if you think you EVER will, then you have your answer. The MacBookPro. I have an iBook so I think i'm going with the iMac.

Another thing that comes to mind is HD space. You can get 250, or 500 with the iMac, or not so much with the MBP. With the MBP you might need to get an external HD. Do you want to ever play games? If you do, and you're like me, I hate playing games on laptops, it just doesn't work for me.

Hope that helps some.

I'm assuming cost isn't an issue. If you can't buy them both, why ask, right?

It all comes down to if you want portability. Considering you're in college, yet live off campus, I would say it's a good idea to get the MBP. I'm currently in grad school, and the portability more than made up for the price (even though I live close to campus).

Cost is an issue

I would like to get the MBP but I would rather $1,300 and get extra RAM. I just see people using their laptops in class to take notes or starting/finishing an assignment. What other kind of uses in classes can the laptop do?
