I have an old 4th generation iPod. I know people here might not know what that is lol, but I was using it as an external storage device, and had a few things on there I would like to have. Well, I'm having a problem with the iPod. It won't turn on. If I plug it into an outlet, it works fine and says its charging, but it never gets to "charged", just charging. As soon as you unplug the iPod, it turns off and won't work. If I plug it into my computer, the battery logo comes up and thats it, it won't work. Does anyone know what I can do to fix this?

Hey! My 30gb Photo is still my main iPod until next month.

While it's plugged into the charger, hold down the select and menu buttons to reset the iPod. When the Apple logo comes up, quickly switch to holding the select and rewind buttons. It will then enter diagnostic mode. Mess around in there for awhile and see if anything comes up negative, especially under the power tests. That may tell you what the problem is.
