Hey there all,

So I'm just sitting there, editing photos and such, and then all of the sudden all my photo's dissapear. I try to log into iChat, but it says "Welcome to iChat.." etc, and its acting like the very first time I ever opened it. I tried opening iTunes and similar applications, and the same thing happened. However, all my documents are still intact. Can anyone help me with this? Thanks

Just Spotlight it, if you havent deleted it then it will still be there buddy. Be careful when u reset certain names in folders. If you rename then it chages filepath name

So even if I re-named the home folder, the original should still be there? Hmmm..Searching.

yeah, rename the home folder and the next time you reboot, login your Mac recreates the original home folder name empty. Your stuff should be in the old user name folder. Be careful, changing user names is something I don't recommend and can mess up the permissions of all your docs.

The easiest way to change your Home folder back to its original name is probably via another user account. So, set up a new account (in the Accounts pane of System Preferences), log into it and rename your old user's Home folder. Good luck. :)
