On my 2020 M1 Air, I'm trying to set up a keyboard shortcut to move windows to other screen. I followed some online instructions to add the below two options, depending on which window I want to move an app too. But they're proving incredibly temperamental, only occasionally working. On my old 2013 MacBook I found it very easy to just set up a basic ⌘⌥L command to achieve the same function, and it always worked.

I have found that it depends on the app and the created shortcut. I suppose some keyboard shortcuts already exist in some apps. I tried shift-option-command-left arrow (and right arrow) to switch between my two monitors…and it worked in some…but in Apple's Maps it made the map rotate. Odd…because that key command doesn't show in the app.

I changed the arrow keys to number pad 1 and number pad 3 (on my extended keyboard) and haven't found an app (apps with the Window>"Move to…" menu item) that doesn't work…except if the app doesn't have the menu item the key command won't work.

This totally worked! Thanks Brian. It appears to work both on the built in keyboard and my external one, too.
